Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D)

MAM College of Pharmacy provides advanced teaching and training facilities for students pursuing the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) program. The examinations and the awarding of the degree are carried out by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Karnataka. The entire teaching and training program, as well as the conduct of examinations, are in accordance with the Educational Regulations framed by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi.

Requirements

Minimum requirements for admission to the Pharm.D program are as follows:

  • Pass in 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Maths (PCM) or Biology (PCB)
  • Minimum aggregate of 50% in PCM/PCB
  • Valid scores in entrance examinations like NEET or KCET

 

About the course:

The Pharm.D program is a six-year course, including five years of academic training and one year of internship. The program is designed to produce competent pharmacists who can provide patient-centered care.

 

Duration of course:

The course of academic training is of five years duration with a minimum of 180 working days per year, followed by a one-year internship program in a hospital or community pharmacy setting.

 

Pharm.D Course Structure
  • First Year: Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, etc.
  • Second Year: Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacotherapeutics, Pharmaceutical Analysis, etc.
  • Third Year: Clinical Pharmacology, Toxicology, Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, etc.
  • Fourth Year: Research Methodology, Advanced Pharmaceutical Analysis, Clinical Research, etc.
  • Fifth Year: Elective courses and project work
  • Sixth Year: Internship program
